Lebanon's Population in 2022

We are excited to announce that the US Census just released their updated populations as of 7/1/22, putting Lebanon at 44,166 people.

Our previous year estimate was 40,888, which equates to a +8% population increase for our community.  Since the official 2020 census, Lebanon has passed Mt. Juliet, LaVergne and Germantown in population, ranking us as the 20th most populous city in Tennessee. We are also ranked 4th in the state for total people added and the total rate of growth. We have added more people than any other city except Clarksville, Murfreesboro, and Nashville.

Please note: This update correlates with our belief that Lebanon has been undercounted for some time. To that end, we will be holding a SPECIAL CENSUS later this year and we need your help in quickly getting counted. We will keep you posted on census dates and key information. Why so diligent in arriving at an accurate count? Because the state distributes funds to each city based on their accredited population. These monies will go towards our general fund and street aid funds to improve Lebanon’s quality of life for their residents.
